Pack Type: Rucksack
Make and Model: Marmot Highlander lumbar pack
Capacity (cubic inches): 1000
Review: I really love this pack. I use it for snowshoeing, skiing, and daytripping. Some lumbar packs tote a lot of room, but they tend to stick out from the body further than is comfortable. Not so with the Highlander. Perhaps the greatest feature is the BioSpan compression system, which works incredibly well. The nicest thing about it is that you only have to pull one strap on either side (which are very easy to get to) to adjust the load. I find it very easy to adjust with mittens on while walking, snowshoeing, or skiing!!! I stuff my pack full...all pockets, gear slab, and two full Nalgenes. If you wear the pack where it's supposed to be worn (i.e. over the lumber region and not the hips) everything snugs down perfectly, stays secure, and rides comfortably. A+ of a pack!!!
