|Review:||I purchased this excellent mummy bag from ALPS Mountaineering a few months ago and so far I'm extremely pleased with the fit and performance of this bag. |
For starters, after taking it on three backpacking trips in Ohio and Pennsylvania, it performed just as well as bags costing two to three times as much (Sierra Designs and Mountain Hardware bags come to mind).
The Techloft (mine is last year's model and uses PolyMAX, which is identical to this year's Techloft) hollow core synthetic insulation lofts up very well and is very warm and soft. It would compare to Dupont's Hollofil. The contoured hood and puffy insulated zipper tube are nice features and I really appreciate the wide cut at the shoulders (34 inches in the long version) which assured I woke up to NO cramped shoulders the next morning. Both the outer shell and the liner are constructed of a silky polyester tafetta, which is very comfortable feeling. For a mere 70 bucks, this is one great bag and would highly recommend it!
